Alexander Technique

What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is a self-help method that enables us to use our body in harmony with our mind, which was developed by F. M. Alexander (1869-1955) who was an actor born in Tasmania.

We are designed to function as a whole. However, as we grow up, we tend to gain habitual patterns that could interfere the unity between our body and mind. This disintegration of psycho-physical unity often brings us pain/ tension/ mental stress/ etc.

The Alexander Technique helps us to recognise these interfering patterns and to stop reacting with them. So that we will be able to choose lighter/ freer/ easier ways with more balanced coordination.

The technique can be applied to various activities from simple everyday movements to complex performances for accomplished professionals.
